The purpose of the Mickleton Community Archive is to collate and conserve materials already available in the community into an accessible resource which demonstrates the heritage of the village.

The archive will be created by the team of committed volunteers to ensure the conservation of the heritage both living and from the past.

The group will capitalise on the enthusiasm of the community for the venture by providing a programme of activities which will promote learning and participation through enjoyment of working to a common purpose and discovery of their heritage.

As with previous community ventures the aim is to create a self-sustaining community resource. The archive, audio and visual resources for all ages and a village map will provide income.

All key members of the project group have previously been dynamically involved in community activities and have considerable experience in communicating their activities to a wide audience to engage support and commitment. This is demonstrated by the pledged support which has increased at each monthly open meeting, both from individuals and the wider village community groups.

If you would like to take part in any aspect of the project, please contact us by email.
