Information provided by Geoff Field from the Register of Electors:
The 1901 census shows John Harper at age 73 as sexton of parish church.
The Register of Electors for 1919 shows:
Parish of Mickleton, Division I
Harper Thos sen age 43 and Harper Annie age 40 together with William and Mary Gemma
Listed as Parish of Mickleton, Division II are: Harper Thomas Hughes age 15, Priscilla age 12, James Arthur Mellor age 3 and William (no age given). No address information.
The next official record would be the 1939 register which shows Annie still at Mill Cottage (not Mills) on Mill Lane. Annie is now a widow. The 1939 record shows that she was born 22.9.1860, so nearly 80 years old, living with (son?) Charles born 19.9.1903 (but not listed on the 1919 Register), single at age 36 and a market gardener.
Other members of the family also live in Mill Lane ( illegible perhaps Bain Lane off Mill Lane?): James born in 1897 (so not the James A. M. born to Thomas and Annie in 1916), living with his wife Etta (script unclear re name and d.o.b.) both market gardeners, with son Kenneth born 1933 and Aubrey born 1935.
