A Recent Resident

I have lived in Mickleton for 10 years. I moved here, having been very recently widowed. Since then I have often said that "it was meant to be" that I came here. I have found it a very friendly village. I soon discovered that if I walked to the shop or Post Office most people would say "Good Morning" and I got invited to various activities in the village.

I became involved with the Theatregoers Club and was soon on the committee, which I did for 6 years. I joined the Gardening  Club and have been on some very enjoyable outings and holidays with them. I play indoor bowls and volunteer in the village school. There are lots of other activities and clubs besides those mentioned: so lots to do!

Mickleton offers facilities which many other villages have lost; a Post Office, village shop, butchers shop, local farm shops, plus two pubs and a hotel. Also the village school which plays a vital role in keeping the village alive.

I am very glad I came to live here
