Originally this was the front of the vicarage and the front door was where the bottom centre window is now. It is thought that the change was made in Victorian times and a new entrance with a porch was built on to the front.
This panel had formed part of the original fireplace in the Broadway home of Mr Peter Renfrew which had been built by a William Lissaman. The panel had been stored in a garage since the 1930s. The taller man, in the foreground, in the light cap is Mr Keyte. On his left, also wearing a cap, is Stephen Clifton and the man in front, in the bowler hat, is George Bayliss who was Leading Fat Stock Judge.
The index accompanying the slide collection suggested the date of 1909. The name of Rev. Coxwell-Rogers was also included but not identified on the photograph. Perhaps he is the man on the extreme right, middle row, in the straw boater? The group had probably enjoyed tea in the Collett's Tea Gardens behind them.
Frank Kinchin, the owner, outside the store with his wife, Mary and children, Horace and Mary. This shop would, later, become the Post Office.
The Old Vicarage is a Georgian house built in 1805 directly opposite the church. Originally the front door was on the other side of the house but the porch and room above are said to have been added in Victorian times and became the front entrance.

This photo was taken shortly after it was built by Sydney Graves Hamilton between 1887 and 1891. The house is situated at the top of Glyde Hill and is now famous for its gardens. The portico is clearly visible and was part of the 18th Century wing moved from Mickleton Manor.

Stephen Cowley, in the centre, was licensee of the Milking Pail pub. This photograph was lent to Mickleton Women's Institute by Mrs Florence Bennett who had written 'August House Party' on the reverse. She grew up next door, in Hidcote Cottage, and her family and the Cowley family were great friends.
