Named the King George's Hall, it was built to commemorate the coronation of George V in 1911. The village children had their Coronation Tea in the hall before it was completed. John Isom (left) and local poet George Compton ( Right) composed a musical version of Wind in the Willows and the 24-strong Meon Singers performed the musical in King George's Hall on December 18th 1992.
