Brother and sister dressed in their Sunday best. They were two of the five children of John Richard Hopkins and his wife Gertrude Jane Cowley.
Leonard was born in 1929, the third child of John Richard Hopkins and his wife Gertrude Jane. This photograph was taken in 1933 when he would have been four years old.

The orchard was on land opposite the council houses on Granbrook Lane where, later, new houses and then Meon Road, were built. The footpath that Marian is standing on led through to Canada Lane and up to Beggar's Barn where the Franklin family farmed.
