Known by many villagers as 'Red Square' because of the colour of the bricks used for building the houses there.
The man on the left with his back to the photographer is Harry Wright. The woman in the light coat on the right is Mrs Sue Payne and the woman in the parade, at the front, is schoolteacher, Mrs E. Swift. The Queen is ? Clark.
In the index to the original slide collection this photograph was described as 'Avon Drinks Float'. The lorry was owned by Arrow [?] Soft Drinks of High Street, Broom near Alcester. Had it been hired for the day? The photograph was taken opposite the [now] Post Office Stores.

Medford House stands on the High Street at the Junction with Church Lane.
Tudor House is on the west side of the High Street, through to Back Lane.
