View of Glyde Hill from the allotments on Stratford Road. The distinctive row of trees which can be seen on the skyline are known locally as the Shenstone pines as they were planted at the suggestion of William Shenstone, a noted landscape garden designer, on a visit to Mickleton Manor.
This was opposite the first Council houses on Granbrook Lane [Road at the time this photograph was taken in 1969] and fronting Stratford Road.
