The Village Mural

The Village Mural, commissioned and paid for by Mickleton Community Archive, was unveiled on Saturday, 13th February 2014, by some of the children who were involved when this part of the Archive Project began in 2013.

The Archive Team worked with the school on a Village Project looking at many aspects of the village, its life and history. A series of sketches provided the vision to produce a new village mural. Artists were approached to transform the children’s images into a collage reflecting Mickleton.

After much searching, the Archive commissioned an architectural illustrator, to create the watercolour and a firm to produce the large scale copy of the image which you now see.

At the event an App was demonstrated, unique to a small village, and available as a free illustrated guided tour of the village.

The Walk Booklet and Village Map have also been delivered free to every house in the village. (If by any chance we have missed a delivery please contact us).
