Houses

The map of 1698 shows some 60 houses in the village.

A number of these 17th century buildings survive within the village. These include a mix of mostly timber frame and limestone buildings. A concentration of timber frame exists around the west end of Chapel Lane, near to Tadpole. Apart from one or two buildings being built in the 18th century the next main phase of development appears to have been during the 19thcentury.

There are several grand houses in the village including Mickleton Manor House and Medford House.
