Presentation of the Bledisloe Cup 1961
Mr. B. J. Robbins, Chairman of Mickleton Parish Council receives the Bledisloe Trophy from the Earl of Harrowby. He said’ how proud he was to receive the trophy on behalf of the community. He stressed that no individual efforts had been made but that it was a village effort’. Mickleton’s success followed seven previous entries in the competition. There was some controversy over the decision as Painswick had gained the highest marks but the rules stated that no village could win two years in succession.
