Wedding group outside the Butcher's Arms
Identified in the index to the original slide collection as the Horseman family but whether this refers to the bride or groom is not known. Further research has shown that William Hazlewood Horseman was the publican at the Butcher’s Arms at the beginning of the 20th century. Three of his children married in Mickleton: Minnie Simpson Hazlewood Horseman age 23 married Arthur Ernest Turner, age 24, a porter from Ladywood, Birmingham on 15th September 1903. On 3rd June 1907 Elsie Clowes Horseman married Thomas Perry, age 29, a ticket collector from Edgebaston, Birmingham. Her father died in 1908. Her son, William Jim Horseman, then aged 24 a railway servant of Balsall Heath, Birmingham married at Mickleton on 30th September 1909. His bride was Elsie Edith Righton age 24, the daughter of Samuel Righton, grazier.
