Methodist Chapel - a history
Compiled by members of Mickleton Women’s Institute in 1970s:
E side of Chapel Lane, between Mill Bank and Three Ways corner.
Camera facing SE.
Victorian Chapel, 1891. Brick with stone quoins. Roof tiled, ventilators in roof. 11/2 s[torey]. Windows above porch 3-lancet with cusped head, set under a stone arch; similar type 2-light in side walls and one single in end wall each side of porch. Names of Trustees at time of building engraved on foundation stones each side of porch. Chapel with central and side pews, central pulpit on raised platform at S end and large vestry.
Built by Sheppard of Honeybourne for £750. Before street lighting came to Mickleton there were two round oil lamps on top of the gate pillars.
