Notice setting out the proposals of the Committee, chaired by R.G.Niblett, appointed to to organise Mickleton’s celebrations of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11. A house to house collection would take place during the week February 2-7th which they hoped would raise a large portion of the estimated cost of £150. It was suggested that the celebrations consist of:
Ringing of the church bells
An open air united religious service
Souvenirs for all schoolchildren and younger ones
Tea for all
Sports and amusements for young and old
Dancing and community singing
Torchlight procession, bonfire and fireworks
