Wedding of Elsie Righton and Jim Horsman
The wedding took place in the Church of St Lawrence, Mickleton on 30th September 1909. The parish records show that Elsie Edith Righton was 24 years old and the daughter of grazier, Samuel Righton and his wife Sophie. William Jim Horseman was also 24 and worked then as a railway servant in the parish of St Paul, Balsall Heath although he had grown up in the village. His father was William Hazelwood Horseman, deceased but previously a publican (of the Butcher’s Arms?).
A descendent provided the information that this photograph was taken in the orchard at Stoneleigh on Ivy House Lane and that the couple later emigrated to Australia.
