Mickleton Welfare met in the Village hall, Mothers would take their babies and young children to be weighed by nurses, seen by the health visitor and meet other children and their mothers. The Welfare Christmas party was enjoyed by all.
A proud moment for Mickleton when Lord Harrowby unveiled the commemorative sign awarded for the "Best Kept Village" in Gloucestershire in 1961.
